OperaSLO Supports SLOCOE Arts Collaborative

Thursday, December 5, 2019

I know you will enjoy this video of Eliana Nunley, 16, Arroyo Grande High School, who was cast in our South Pacific production in 2019. We partner with the San Luis Obispo County Office of Education to make professional arts opportunities available to students who are ready to rise to the challenge. It's called the SLOCOE Arts Collaborative. This is from their website:

"We believe that the arts and humanities are not simply a luxury but a necessity in the information age to promote a balanced democracy. The San Luis Obispo County Office of Education (SLOCOE) Arts Collaborative includes a group of artists, art educators and arts supporters committed to sustaining and growing arts education in San Luis Obispo County."

You can learn more by visiting the San Luis Obispo County Office of Education website: https://www.slocoearts.org/

Your support of Opera San Luis Obispo enables our company to produce grand productions on the Central Coast, as well as inspire the next generation of Central Coast children such as Eliana Nunley. Our goal is to continue to bring classical music to more than 5,000 local school children a year, as well as ensure our productions continue to unify Central Coast performing arts organizations throughout our magnificent county.

Brian Asher Alhadeff, Artistic and General Director of Opera San Luis Obispo
